The Palm Pre emerged amidst a whole lot of buzz, especially in the wide, wild world of smart phones. Palm was on the verge of bankruptcy, after all, until approaching the guy who was the project manager for the iPod, John Rubenstein, to be the head of research and development. Good move.
The result was, of course, the Palm Pre, which a whole lot of people compare to the iPhone. After all, both of them come complete with touch screens, great operating systems, plenty of applications, GPS, internet, and a whole host of other features.
What helps to bring the Pre out on top, however, is the inclusion of a QWERTY keyboard as well as a 3.2 megapixel camera, all in a smaller package.
