The new phone is quite affordable plus it is waterproof, dust proof, shockproof, and handles inclement temperatures quite well. It also has a nice 3.7 inch Super AMOLED screen and a 5MP camera.

Hardware

There is justice if you will compare this to the top tier smartphones of the brand like the Galaxy S II. The Rugby Smart has a single core processor but the phone is built to be tough. It can survive being submerged in a meter deep water for half an hour, it is dust proof, resistant to temperatures, and shock proof. Yes, it is built for the Navy Seals or at least it is quite shatter and battle ready. This means it is perfect for the beach, any outdoor activity, or maybe for a kid who loves to go to the play ground.

In front you have a 1.3 MP camera which will come pretty useful when you video chat while on the opposite side is the more powerful 5MP that can also shoot HD video on 720p.

Software

The phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the TouchWiz on the surface. It is not the latest so you can upgrade the system to take the Ice Cream Sandwich later on. Comparing it to the other Android devices on the market, it is quite slick and makes sense. The interface is very user friendly and this is actually the same as the one on the Galaxy S II.

Aside from the usual apps for storage, messaging, and social media you will see, you might get some bloatware depending on the provider of the service. You also have access to the Android Market so you can grab the things that can make it more fun.

Conclusion

The phone functions really nice but if you can get the Galaxy S II for the same tag price, then it might be wiser to get the higher end phone. The only reason you will pick the Rugby Smart is because of its hardcore built which can resist the elements and forces.

HTC is a phone company that I did not expect to come out all that good but as soon as the HTC Touch HD came out – I know I was doomed to be hooked to HTC. Now that the HTC Touch HD2 is going to be coming out … I am so excited! It will run on an Android as its operating system and will have a 628MHz processor.

While this might not be the official picture – I think that it is going to look pretty close to this.

The Mivvy One Smartphone runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and offers a 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen display, a 624MHz Marvell PXA300 processor, a 3MP camera, a 128MB RAM, a 256MB ROM, an FM radio, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and supports quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz).

All of this for about $380.00 – which is pretty damn sweet and a fantastic friggin’ deal!
